I found a book which I was looking for listed for sale by this seller, advertised for $1.77, but after placing an order for it, was told it was no longer available.
When I went back to the abebooks web-site to look for another copy, the seller still had the book listed for sale at the same price. I placed another order, and they cancelled the order again and said yet again that the book was no longer available.
When I check a third time for a copy to order, I noticed that they had the copy for $1.77 listed again, as well as multiple copies available at a much higher price. I placed a third order for the $1.77 copy of the book and also sent an inquiry as to why they keep claiming the book is unavailable but they keep listing it for sale.
The third purchase order was actually processed, my credit card was charged for the price of the book ordered along with shipping costs, and the order was marked shipped on my account page on the Abebooks web-site, but I never received any reply to my inquiry, or any communication what-so-ever from the seller concerning the purchase.
Now, after several weeks of waiting for the book to arrive, and after the estimated delivery date has past, I have had to contact Abebooks to request them to look into the situation since it appears that Books from California has decided to just process my book order, take my payment, but not bother with actually sending me the book which I bought from them.
I have been reading and collecting books my whole life, and with the advent of the internet, I have been buying books from all over the U.S. as well as from Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
There is no doubt in my mind that Books from California is by far the worse seller I have ever attempted to purchase a book from!
