My ex-husband was getting a refi by Carrington Mortgage for a home we both bought originally. I walked away from the house and my ex went with Carrington to get a new loan with his credentials only. He was approved and tried to keep me updated in the process. On 13 December 2016 I was contacted by a Carrington rep to sign and send some documents. On 14 December 2016 the rep contacted me for confirmation that the documents were sign and sent. IMPOSSIBLE! I commute, work, and have a family. It is also the busiest time of the year with holiday work parties, school holiday programs and so on. I informed them that it was likely not going to be done until the weekend when I have a little bit of time because weekdays are impossible especially since I needed a notary public stamp. A notary service really only available M-F 9-5, and at my expense when I know they sent a notary to my ex's house for his signature.
The rep was not understanding at all and I received some harassment to get the paperwork done or else "they couldn't fund the mortgage". I am not an idiot. If they really want the business aka money, then they will do everything in their power to get it done. Also, if my signature is the one important component to this loan then why was it not a priority and not some last minute detail. There were a few other details of this whole process that was not transparent and actually kind of suspect. Their only concern was their own which is money.
The rep even went as far as going to management to harass me. My only retaliation was listing a dozen or so points of oversight made by the rep. ie. they called me and emailed me all day during work hours just to get a fedex tracking number that was in a previous email that they had sent me. I assume they were lazy too search for it or have a complete disrespect for other peoples time. And I summarized the huge lack of professionalism from a managers perspective.
My main complaint is the harassment and lack of professionalism. Beware of this company.
