Paypal has a really bad Seller Protection!!
I was scammed by a buyer from Craigslist. I sold my pair of shoes on spot and the buyer agreed to the firm price of $500. After 20 days, I received an email from PayPal stating that the buyer didn't authorize the payment because "he didn't receive the goods." and that I didn't have the proof of delivery. PayPal then decided to make a full refund to the buyer, resulting in a negative balance in my account. I've contacted PayPal by phone and the customer representative kept insisting on the proof of delivery. It was an in-person transaction, hence there wasn't a proof of delivery. How can PayPal simply use this to protect the buyer? This isn't the right standard to determine which side PayPal should stand by. Was there even a proof from the buyer to substantiate that the transaction didn't take place?If not, why would PayPal stand by the scammer's side? As a victim and user who has used Paypal for years, I am truly dissatisfied and disappointed by PayPal's decision to stand by the scammer's side and let him get away from this.
