Can't I give them ZERO STARS?

Steer clear of all products made by this company. I bought System Mechanic Pro for $69.99 plus tax at Fry's months ago. The box claimed it would revive dead drives. It also had a 100% money back guarantee if it didn't work. Well guess what? It didn't work. I went to Fry's the next day to return it, and Fry's refused to take it back because it was opened. They told me I had to get my money back from Iolo instead. That's where the nightmare began.

I called Iolo. First they gave me a claim number, and made me fax them my receipt with the claim number before they'd give me an RMA. Then I had to call them back to get the RMA number (which turned out to be the same number - part of their game). Iolo tries to make it so miserable and difficult a process that you won't pursue the 100% guaranteed refund.

I then had to incur the cost of shipping the item back to them with tracking. Months went by. I tried following up by phone but never got a live person. Finally a PARTIAL check arrived. They had the nerve to deduct a 10% restocking fee!

So It cost me almost $20 out of pocket on a product that didn't do what it promised.

Now I've been trying to get Michael Blackwell on the phone. He's the customer service asst mgr (according to the partial refund letter). He doesn't seem to exist. Calls to Iolo are routed to "tech support." The phone system says "press 6 for a name directory" but when you press 6, you get the receptionist who says she is not allowed to transfer calls to the executive offices.

I've then called Allison Mack, their public relations manager at 323 423-1030. She also lies, and transfers me to tech support.

Iolo Technologies has no integrity along with false advertising. Do NOT buy any products of theirs.

Hmmm... seems they are hiding over there. Iolo has not returned any calls. I have given them multiple warnings that if they didn't behave like an honest company, I'd report them to the BBB.

Go to Zabasearch and get Noah Rowles' address. (He's the CEO/President.) Write him a letter.

File a complaint with the BBB. Perhaps a class action might get Iolo to deal with consumers in an honest way?

**If you go to RipoffReport, you will see dozens of consumer complaints back in 2008 with the same comments about detestible customer support and service.
