We wanted to express our appreciation for everything Derek has been able to accomplish over these last few weeks. When Derek first started, we were having issues just making payroll on a weekly basis. This was driving us nuts because we just ended our most profitable quarter and yet we could not meet our week-to-week responsibilities. The first thing Derek helped us implement was a moving payroll to biweekly which would give us some breathing room to get our finances in order. He also helped us apply us apply and setup a line of credit with our local bank. This is something we had looked into in the past but could never actually push past the finish line. These two things alone immediately ended our week-to-week struggles. We now had the time and bandwidth to look into why we were having these issues in the first place. It turned out we were suffering as a product of our own success. We have been taking on larger and larger projects over the last few years. We never really stopped to understand just how capital intensive these larger projects were. Armed with this knowledge Derek helped us implement major changes to how we bid projects. Profit margin was no longer the deciding factor in if or even should bid on a specific project. None of this would have been possible with Derek and this rest of his team at CBS.
