Check Engine Light Went On The Same Night I Bought My Car
|
2-15-12 Purchased car, Check Engine Light went on 40 miles later. Called next day, was given the run-around. My mechanic reset the light on 2-20, it went back on 40 miles later. Met with owner 2-29. I told her I believed someone reset the light prior to my buying the car. She shrugged & said it's an as is sale.
Also: They "fixed" the broken driver's mirror by gluing another mirror over it. They advertised the car as having GPS, non-smoking, no accidents. The car has no GPS (owner shrugged at that too), obviously been smoked in (backseat cup holder used as an ashtray, front has heavy usage) it's been in some sort of accident involving the driver's side. They promised to send me the remote & missing fog light. Never received either.
I know used cars aren't perfect but I shouldn't have to deal with the Check Engine Light, especially not the same day I buy the car. The joy of upgrading my ride was sorely tarnished thanks to these people. Be sure you have everything you want from them before you leave, even then you won't know for sure. Once they have your money they are done with you.
