42" Edge lit led (black screen) M3D421SR
I purchased the 42" led TV, like a lot of other people on black Friday 2011. Now I only bought this TV because it seemed like such a great deal at the time. I already owned a 32", and a 37" VIZIO so when I purchased this new TV I really had no use for it right away, so it just sat in my house in the box. I also had bought my sister a 27" VIZIO for Christmas the year before because I considered VIZIO to be a great company with a quality product. Eventually I found a spot for the TV and set it up to experience the home theater 3D. The TV was great and had no issues once I figured out you need a high speed HDMI cable to use the 3D feature. The TV with only minimal hours of use all of a sudden doesn't turn on, only the VIZIO logo lights up. Of course this was in December the first month out of warranty. Given the fact that I was the original purchaser and the TV had barely any use. I had high hopes for getting some help from VIZIO. Well let me tell you this, customer service did not care that I was a loyal customer. I asked repeatedly why they wouldn't stand behind there product. After A few calls and a long time on the phone they offered to split coast repair witch doesn't make sense because in the email they sent it described I would pay $105. In labor and $85. Minimum service fee, and they would cover the parts. I was very discouraged. VIZIO said we have the lowest fail rate of any TV company. I researched this issue on the Internet and, in my opinion it is clear this specific model has a defect of some kind, yet VIZIO is not willing to HELP me. I can't believe a $1600. TV would have such a poor life span. I am very surprised at how VIZIO wouldn't make this right. I had never had to call customer service before as my other TV's work great. So when my newest TV failed I was shocked at the unwillingness of VIZIO to take some responsibility. There customer service refused to treat me like an actual person instead just stuck with, (your TV is out of warranty sorry).
